Mamaw's 101 Birthday Party

We had Mamaw a little birthday party with cake and ice cream Sunday at the living center. Her sunday class as well as some of our relatives came up from Magee to be with her. We also had the Lee bunch as well. Our cousins Cindy, Nanny, Stanley and Robin sang some hymns and the residents sang along with them. I think everyone enjoyed the day. This is the first 101 Birthday Party that I have every been to. I am glad we still have her. LOVE her so much.

St Paddy's Day Parade

Kay and I went to the St Paddy's Day Parade in Jackson on Saturday. We met my friend Becky and Kay's sister Debbie with her grandchildren. It was fun to see old friends but now I know why I haven't been in years. I think we were about the only sober ones there. There was some crazy people there.

101 Years Old Today!!!!!

Today my sweet Grandmother turns 101. Can you believe it? Isn't she the prettiest sight that you have ever seen for a 101 year old little lady? I tell you what, I am very lucky to have a grandmother around this long. She has got the kindess heart of any woman I have ever met. She is always glad to see me everytime I walk in the door. She has always been there for me through thick and then. I think that she may have even spoiled me a little bit. I was the only grandchild for 6 years, so what does that say? She has set very good examples for me, I just wish that I could be half as good as her. So today I say HAPPY BITHDAY MAMAW, I LOVE YOU!!

Having Dinner With Two Great Friends

Last night, my mother and I took our pastor that is leaving us after 18 years out to dinner. Bro. Clark and Pam have been a blessing to my family as well as my church family. They are two of the sweetest people that you will ever meet. Not only was Bro. Clark our pastor, He and Pam are great friends. They are a joy to be around. The new church that they are going to are getting two Godly people that know the word. I will sure miss them but I know that God has more things waiting for him to do. I wish them the best of luck and will be praying that the Lord will give them the strength and guidance they need on their new journey. Aren't they just precious?

A Blast From the Past

At the end of last year, one of my classmates husband emailed me to ask if we could get together all five of the girls that hung out together and surprise his wife,Connie, for her birthday. Her birhtday was Feb 11 and we went to Atlanta on Feb 19th to spend the weekend. I am on the left, Sheila from Pensacola is next, Connie is next, Becky is in the black standing on the chair, one of Connies friend is next and then my friend Kim. The first night, Kim, Becky and I drove over on Thursday night and spent the night with my sister in Stockbridge. I think we stayed up until 4:30am talking to them. She had not seen them in probably 20 years. I had not seen Sheila and Connie in 20 years. I see Kim and Becky all the time. They still live around here. On Friday, we drove up to Cummings, Ga to surprise Connie. I forgot to mention that her sweet husband Jay payed for and planned this whole weekend. We walked in to Spondivits resturant with our feather boas on. Are we not a sight for sore eyes? Connie was completely surprised. Needless to say, the waitress put us in our own room. After eating, we spent the night at Connies house. It was just like high school having a palet party all over again. We woke the next morning to any kind of breakfest you could imagine. He made appts for 1:00 on Saturday for all 5 of us to pampered with a massage and facial. WONDERFUL!!!! We then headed to spend the night ath the Marriott in downtown Atlanta after a brief stop at the local mall. After arriving at the Marriott, we rushed to get ready to head for the Cirque Du Soleil. This was the most entertaining circus that I had ever been to. After a wonderful dinner at a fine mexican resturant, we head back to the room. Again, another palet party. FUN, FUN. We got up on Sunday morning to go and see Connies to girls who are now married and her oldest just had their first child on 01/01/09. It was great to see the girls all grown up and the baby is just beautiful. Hard to believe Connie is a grandmother. After our visit, we headed back home only to stop in Toucaloosa to see one of our other classmates, Angela and her son Conner. Angela was one grade ahead of us. I sure hated for the weekend to end and come back to the real world. WE HAD A BLAST. CONNIE THE BIRTHDAY GIRL

My Basketball Coach from High School

I have been out of school 30 years this year. My highschool basketball coach started coaching at my school when I was in the 8th grade. The picture above is our basketball team my senior year. I am #21. Look how skinny I was. The other picture is me and Coach Pearson now. Look how gray he is and how much bigger I am. Well, my school no longer exists and Coach Pearson still coaches at another local highschool and this year makes 35 years of coaching. On March 6, we decided to get together as many girls and guys together that he ever coached at my high school and surprise him at his last boys basketball game. We had a good crowd to show up and boy was he surprised. We then had a get together after the game to honor him and just to tell him how much we appreciated him. It was great. He was shocked. It was so good just to see a lot of my classmates from so many different grades.

A Little Late is Better than Never

I am way behind on posting. Christmas and New Years has come and gone. Boy, time is flying, isn't it? My sister Lisa and her husband Ronnie came from Atlanta and my Aunt Carolyn came from Florida for Christmas. Mamaw was able to come from the nursing home for a few days to spend with us, so over all we had a good time. Ate too much but it is always great to see and be with family.
Here is a picture of all the girls I work with at our Christmas Party at work.
